One-eighty

I took these pictures today, about 5 seconds apart.  In this case, the crying one was taken second, but it could have been the other way around.  It's funny how quickly babies can do a one-eighty.  Happy and cooing one minute, then wailing the next.  His smiles are getting more frequent, though are still difficult to predictably provoke ( I did manage to capture a few of his precious smiles this afternoon).  He has had a couple of fussy days and has not slept more than 3 hour stretches at night the past 2 nights, but overall is still doing great.  He is putting a lot of weight on his legs now when we hold him up, pushing off a lot, too.  I had an appointment on Friday last week because I have mastitis (which is much better now). They weighed him (at exactly 5 weeks old) and he weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces.  I'm sure he will be ten pounds by the time we leave for France next week.  What a big boy!
