Making mommy happy

This has been a good week so far.  Aside from the fact that Spencer is getting his days and nights mixed up, he has reached some big "milestones", so to speak.  Yesterday was a big day.

I decided to try a new approach for his bath...with me!  He LOVED it.  We spent about 15 minutes in the bath and he was alert and happy the entire time.  Only glitch?  As soon as I got him in the water and he was comfortable, he peed AND pooped.  It must be true love when you can take a bath in water full of your son's poop.

A few hours later, Spencer decided he was hungry, but I'd just pumped.  So it was time to try a bottle again.  Fortunately, I had a new nipple to try, since he was choking and sputtering on the other ones.  He took the bottle like a champ and drank the entire thing without stopping.  Now we're ready for a babysitter!  Well, not quite yet.  I'm not ready for that, even if he is!

He is also bearing weight on his legs this week and seems to be smiling more, though probably not in response to my baby-talk.  It's hard to tell, but that generally doesn't occur for another week or two, so I'll keep trying.

I am a little sleep deprived, as he has been up about every 2 hours at night.  Sometimes he needs to nurse, though often he just needs to poop or pass gas, then he will go back to sleep for an hour or two.  I am glad we decided to leave a bed in the nursery because it's getting lots of use!
