Spencer turns 5 months

Our little bubba is 5 months old already!  It's hard to believe.  He's almost 16 pounds already.  He is eating solids and starting to open his mouth like a little bird (unfortunately, so does his mom).  He seems to really like sweet potatoes and carrots...this week.  We'll see what next week brings!  He is sitting very well and needs just a little support to keep from toppling over.  As of yesterday, he successfully rolled from his back to his stomach...several times!  Well, I guess he actually did this last weekend for the first time.  We were staying at my sister's and he was sleeping in Gavin's crib for a nap and when I went to get him, he was on his stomach, which is not where I left him!  He still loves his baths, though now needs toys to keep him occupied.  He giggles and smiles frequently.  I am back at work (a whopping 12 hours a week right now), and he is going with me.  It is not the easiest thing in the world, and it is prolonging the inevitable separation anxiety I am dreading, but my co-workers seem to enjoy having him there and helping out, so for now we will stick with it.  Being back at work was much easier than I had imagined (dreaded) and I am enjoying seeing patients again.  The ones that know me are eager to see Spencer and many have wanted me to bring him in the room during our visit and have offered to hold him.  This is probably why he got his first cold last week (a minor and inevitable one), but I guess this will help to strengthen his immune system!
