Just 6 days ago, Brad and I welcomed a son to our family.  At 5:07pm on Friday August 22nd, we welcomed Spencer Ryan Black into this world.  He was born after 15 hours of labor and seeing him for the first time was easily the most amazing moment of our lives.  We are already head-over-heels in love with him and find it quite easy to sit and stare at him all day.  He is so far a perfect angel baby who sleeps up 2 to 4 hours at a time, nurses very well, and has lots of alert time where he just lays there and looks around.  I have yet to be sleep deprived, largely due to the help of my mom.  She has been staying with us since he was born and sleeps in the nursery with him.  She wakes me up when he is ready to nurse, then puts him back to sleep for me if he has not fallen asleep on his own.  I have only been getting up twice at night, so I consider myself very fortunate at this point.  Only time will tell if he truly is this easy, but we are enjoying every minute of it while we can.
