38 Weeks

Well, I'm down to counting the days.  Only 12 days until I'm due!  If we decide to induce on the 17th, then that's only 10 days.  But if we have to wait, it could be as many as 26 days...yikes!  I saw one of the midwives yesterday.  She checked my cervix and it is still closed, though is starting to move forward.  His head is still down but is still floating a little bit, meaning he hasn't completely dropped or engaged.  None of this information really means anything.  I could deliver tomorrow or Baby Black could wait until September.  We are having second thoughts about induction.  We just don't want to push it...we're thinking we should let nature run it's course unless mine or baby's health is at risk.  In the end, my discomfort or my concern over who delivers me is not all that important when compared to baby's health and mine.

Talitha, Ashlyn, and Paige will be here tonight.  I am very excited about their visit and hope they get to meet their nephew/cousin before they have to go home on the 21st.

Brad and I had to put his kitty Wowie to sleep today, so having some company should take our minds off of our sad thoughts a little bit.  She had been in "hospice", as Brad likes to call it, for the past 4-5 months.  She started losing weight earlier this year and we were told that she had some moderate renal failure and might live 3 months.  We decided not to intervene because she'd lived a good life (15 years) and there wasn't much we could do anyway.  She was Brad's special cat and he really loved her ...he'd had her for 13 years.  I know he is going to be sad for a little while as he gets used to her being gone.   We took her up to the property and buried her under one of the big fir trees.  We will miss you, the Wows!
