Whistler and Flutters

We just got home from Whistler a few hours ago.  What a great trip!  We didn't have much in the way of fresh powder, but we started the week with a bluebird day, not a cloud in the sky.  And the next several days were mixed with some sun, fog, and a few snowflakes.  I snowboarded for 3 days, then rested yesterday and went to the spa instead!  I got a nice "pregnancy massage", followed by a pedicure...it was the perfect way to end the week while Brad got a day to himself on the slopes.  He didn't have to be held back by me, refusing the double black diamonds!  But for 3 blissful days, I zipped up and down the slopes and had a blast!  I held back a little and had one small fall, but it went really well and was definitely worth it.  I must say, a few more weeks and I would have had a really difficult time bending over to get in and out of my bindings for every run.
As exciting as the week in Whistler was, even more exciting was feeling the baby move this week.  I've been feeling little flutters a few times a day, and I wasn't sure for a few days if they were the baby moving or maybe just gas!  The first time I felt it was last weekend.  Now I feel it a few times a day and it's just the most amazing thing I've ever felt.  A few times this week, we were listening to some live music in one of the restaurants/lounges at Whistler and the baby started moving like crazy.  I guess he likes to groove!  I can't feel the movements from the outside yet, but I'm really cherishing these little "flutters", picturing the baby wiggling around in there, so tiny.  It will be great when Brad can't put his hands on my belly and feel the baby move, too.  He seems to get excited when I tell him the baby's kicking around.  He's also started putting his hands on my belly, checking it out, and telling me not to suck it in and just let it bulge out.  Very sweet...
We are headed to Seattle next weekend.  Brad has a shoulder course on Friday, then we are spending the weekend with Sean and Kim.  I'm looking forward to another fun weekend, then a few weeks at home to get myself ready for spring.  Speaking of which, it feels like it is here already.  The frogs are back and the cherry blossoms are opening up.  I love it!

Little boy flutters... he, as you have come to believe is letting you know him. It is a VERY cool thing. Nice to share with Brad... but always your first real special bond... Treasure it... even when he (as you now know... won't let you sleep.) :) Love to all of you...
P.S. Pat & Gramma want to see your blog...
