12 week photos...
They say that's our baby, but some of the views looked a little more like an alien or a monkey! Even so, it's adorable! We saw the baby kicking and moving it's arms, which was really cool. When he first started the ultrasound, we didn't see a flickering heart like we did in the 6-week ultrasound, and I guess this made Brad a little nervous for a minute. Now that baby is bigger, between 2.5 and 3 inches, you have to look a little closer to find the heart. Not only did we see the heart beating, we also saw the bladder and the stomach. Everything looked perfect. We also had a blood test, which screens for Down's Syndrome and Trisomy 18. We'll have those results in about a week.
I had to do the rubberband trick yesterday for the first time. My pants were just a little too tight at work and I couldn't stand it anymore. Someone gave me a rubberband and oh, my...what a relief! I've ordered some maternity clothes from the Gap, but most of them just look terrible! I suppose as my belly gets bigger, the clothes will look a little more attractive, but we'll see! It's becoming difficult to find anything that's comfortable. I can't wait to get home and put on my velour drawstring pants and a loose t-shirt. I guess this is the time in the pregnancy when you don't look pregnant yet, just a little bit fat. That's how I'm feeling right now! I can't wait for my belly to grow.
I find that I'm really beginning to love being pregnant. I'm so excited about all the upcoming changes and new experiences and watching my belly grow!
