My First Mother's Day

I celebrated my first Mother's Day yesterday.  I have to say that I wasn't expecting much in the way of gifts, celebration, or even feeling like it mattered.  But I was surprised on all accounts!  My mom had come up the night before to watch Spencer while we went out to dinner (and to see Star Trek!).  When we got home from dinner, it was after midnight, so Brad gave me my gift...a new putter!  After Spencer woke up from his morning nap, we went to brunch, then to a big nursery in Sherwood.  When we got home a few hours later, Brad watched Spencer so I could work in the yard for a few hours.  The whole day, I kept thinking to myself that it was so strange that I was actually the mom being honored.  I've been a mom for over 8 months now (yeah, not so long in the big picture), but it was kind-of surreal to be honored for it.  I never thought I'd really care about Mother's Day, but I was wrong.  It was great!
