Well, once again it has been over a month and I have not found the time to sit down and catch up on blogging. Maybe it's because for a few weeks, when I did have a few spare minutes to sit down and play on the computer, I was stuck on Facebook! Now that the novelty of that has worn off, I am going to try to get back to blogging on a more regular basis. This past month has flown by and Spencer has reached some big milestones. He started crawling 2 days ago, which is by far the biggest, most exciting milestone lately. He is not full-speed yet, but it is so much fun to watch him! He can pull himself to standing now, too. I had to lower his mattress today so he won't pull himself up and out of his crib! He is starting to eat some Gerber Graduate foods, which basically dissolve in his mouth...but he still doesn't have any teeth! He continues to put everything in his mouth, of course, and drools like a dog. He still gets up once or twice each night to nurse, but otherwise is sleeping great and seems to really be getting on a schedule. He is such a happy baby. I love going in to get him after he wakes up. He always has such a huge smile on his face. He has started to turn and look for me as soon as he hears the door open...it's precious. He has such a great, happy, easy-going personality. And he is so busy! He never wants to sit still...that plane ride to Florida in a few weeks should be fun!
I finally had to get with the program and find someone to watch him while I work...and just in time, since he started crawling this week. We hired a nanny and she starts tomorrow. She will be here all day on Mondays and Tuesdays. I am going to try and keep my schedule to Mondays and Tuesdays only. Her name is Whitney, she's 22, and I really like her. She has been watching another baby for the past 19 months, since he was 10 days old. I think she'll be perfect.
My sister's baby, Gavin, is doing great. He is getting so big and is just adorable. My sister Talitha was here a few weeks ago to meet him and I spent a few days down at my mom's with both of my sisters...it was a really nice weekend.
We are off to North Captiva, Florida, in just a few more weeks. I am so sick of the rain...I can't wait for some warm, sunny weather and to sink my toes into the warm sand.
The house is coming along. They have painted most of it and should start insulation this week, followed by sheetrock the next week. We are still on schedule for early fall.
Well, that's the past month in a nutshell. I will try really hard to blog a little more frequently from now on!
